Cognitive Linguistics

Users that display offensive behavior may be banned by an administrator.

When banned from CogLing, one is blocked from editing any part of the CogLing wiki.

Duration of ban[]

All bans from CogLing are indefinite, which means that, in theory, all bans are permanent. However, should a banned user feel that the ban was unfair or perhaps a mistake, they are welcome to contact an administrator and argue their cause. If the banned user and administrator comes to an agreement, the administrator may "unblock" the user. Unblocking implies that the user who was previously banned regains their editing rights.

Banning criteria[]

The following "behaviors" may result in a ban.

  • Acts of Vandalism, such as spamming, trolling, blanking of pages will result in a permanent ban.
  • Adding hostile remarks expressing racism, homophobia, sexism and other discriminating and offensive contents will result in a permanent ban.
  • Personal attacks in articles, user pages and talk pages will result in a permanent ban.
  • Uploading offensive images will result in a permanent ban.
  • Acts that are in violation of the code of conduct may result in a permanent ban. However we do assume good faith and violations of the code of conduct or manual of style will not result in bans if they are obviously caused by mistakes.
